"EASY NOW TO GET French Fries TO THE TABLE CRISP AND PIPING HOT" says Aunt Jenny
Try my Blanch-and-Brown Way
1 FRENCH FRIES ARE EASY TO FIX IF YOU USE MY SPRY METHOD, ANN. HERE'S HOW YOU DO IT!
2 First cut pared potatoes in 3/8-inch slices-then cut in 3/8-inch strips. Put in cold water; remove potatoes and dry between towels.
3 350F Blanching-Fry the raw potato in Spry heated only to 350 F. until tender but not brown. Can be done ahead of mealtime.
4 390F Browning- At serving time, fry blanched potatoes in hotter Spry (390F.) until brown and crisp. Sprinkle with salt, serve hot.
