Pie Maker
In part one of this two-page comic, Helen, the young wife is "scared stiff of pastry making." Aunt Jenny to the rescue! She demonstrates her "can't fail pastry method" using Spry vegetable shortening. Helen appears pleased with this simple solution to her pastry woes. The can of Spry is prominently featured in the illustrations.
In the second part of the comic, we see illustrations of the remaining steps in Aunt Jenny's failproof pie crust method. The final panel features the husband's approval of his wife's pie, and the wonderful, flaky crust.
